The video security (CCTV) business has changed quite a lot since the 1980’s. Like other industries (consumer electronics and computers), change in our business is inevitable. Change is often a “dual-edged sword” creating both adversity and opportunity. Staying viable throughout this period was no small feat!
To bottom line this, we see three major trends.
First, there is great new technology available that greatly enhances the capability of what CCTV can actually do for your company.
Second, there are now hundreds of new products and companies- newcomers, flooding the shelves, and making your “choices” much more complex.
Third, and perhaps most importantly, there is a truly diminished lack of knowledge amongst everyone, from the manufacturer, all the way through to the end user.
I am most concerned about this third factor as a direct result of seeing more and more systems installed in the field that simply don’t deliver the results which they can and should. At RockieReps we have decided to address this issue head on. Until recently, and for many years, we have always represented a major “brand name" supplier of end-to-end video management solutions.
Our business model has changed in two ways. First, we have greatly reduced the number of manufacturers we represent. I can now say that our newest partners are the very finest at what they do, offering the highest quality product and an unparalleled level of service and support to all. You might notice that these companies sell American products. Whenever possible, we seek to represent American made products. We will continue to develop the market for these manufacturers and in fact, hope to add a few new, like-minded companies to our line card over the near term.
Second, we have recently launched a sister company, LOOKOUT.PRO. LOOKOUT.PRO. was created to work directly with end-users. It is an “innovation” in consulting service, drawing on years of knowledge and practice in the industry. LOOKOUT.PRO delivers to end-users the information and understanding they need to be intelligent consumers of video surveillance management systems. We seek to teach them what the capabilities are today, and how to obtain the system that really meets their needs.
We are differentiated from the many fine consulting companies out there in two main ways. We limit the scope of our work to the video systems area and do not offer our clients some of the things like CAD drawings, glossy spec sheets and fancy venues. The company is me!
We provide a full spectrum of all the things you need to know to enable you to make informed decisions about how to choose your video equipment, and the available options to deploy it. We accomplish this by working with your organization over a period of hours or in most cases one or two days; not weeks, months or years. The cost is a fraction of the traditional consultant fee. In many cases, we can save you significant dollars by fully explaining your buying both the equipment and the subsequent installation and services required thereafter.
You may even be a candidate for “do it youself".
We make that assessment together.
Fees run from the hundreds to a few thousand dollars.
Remember “Ghostbusters”?
We are the “fluff-cutters”!

The product has finally “landed” under the company banner of Infinias. In fact, Pelco owned this company for a long time during which the development was somewhat slowed. Some of the original crew are still there, finally at home!
Take a look at the 6 linked documents below. The engineers have developed new software versions which now allow our product to compete against all of “the big boys". For example, they integrate with Microsoft Outlook, Google calendar and multi tenant. (all described below)
The core of the line is the eIDC controller, a little smaller than a pack of cigarettes and slightly fatter.
Infinias is a leader in the manufacture and development of true IP based access control systems for the commercial security market. The Intelli-M® product line includes the eIDC32, a cutting edge Ethernet-enabled and PoE powered integrated door controller and the Intelli-M® Access software application.
